Heli Forklifts recently announced the impending arrival of a brand-new product; a hydrogen fuel cell 4-5T forklift. This is one of the very first hydrogen-powered forklifts of this tonnage class to be released and is another reason why we at Allied Forklifts are so proud to be partnered with an organization that continually strives for improvement and innovation.

The new model forklift will generate power comparable to a standard engine. The hydrogen powered unit will be safe, efficient, maintenance free, durable, and adaptable to both high and low temperatures.

Just like Heli’s lithium electric forklifts, you can expect the elimination of emissions, as well as a significant reduction in vehicle vibration and noise.

But unlike their electric counterparts, hydrogen powered forklifts do not require long charging times and can be refueled in just 3 minutes, to produce 4 hours of continuous operation.

A Heli spokesperson added “In the future, Heli will continue to make efforts in the field of hydrogen forklifts (and) launch a series of hydrogen-powered products covering all types of counterbalance forklifts, tractors, and storage trucks.”

The recent announcement of this forklift is quite poignant for the people of WA, as this week, WA State Premier Mark McGowan announced the opening of Western Australia’s first renewable hydrogen refueling station. The opening of this station puts WA firmly at the front of the hydrogen energy race. With hydrogen being blended into the natural gas network, this puts up to 2700 businesses and households within reach of this source of renewable energy.
